Join us as we experience Band Camp without the camping! DFW Summer Band is a locally based week-long day camp. Discounted early registration is available today!
Camp will meet at the June Shelton School in Dallas with main hours of 9:00 – 3:00 PM.
Band Camp is a great opportunity for young musicians to spend a week practicing and learning new music, participating in specialized master classes on each instrument, and studying basic and advanced music theory and history. Students can even learn a second instrument!

What Is Summer Band
Band Camp is a great opportunity for young musicians to spend a week practicing and learning new music, participating in specialized master classes on each instrument, and studying basic and advanced music theory and history. Students can even learn a second instrument!
Join the campers as they show off the product of their hard work all week long at a Summer Band Finale Concert on Friday, July 22 at 2:00 PM at Shelton. Parents should pick their children up at the conclusion of this concert.
Summer Band Directors
Jerry Bishop: Camp Director, Drum Set, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, Music Theory, Master Classes
Ken Utz: Camp Manager, Brass, Concert Band, Garage Band, Music Theory, Master Classes
Additional Camp clinicians and band directors will join Mr. Bishop and Mr. Utz for DFW Band Camp.
Summer Band Logistics
Summer Band is offered in-person for the week of July 18-22 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Summer Band will meet in the Moody Fine Arts Center on the campus of The Shelton School in Dallas.
Shelton is located just north of Campbell Road & Preston Road at 17301 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75252.
Summer Band tuition includes all camp instruction, sheet music, recreation activities, and daily lunch. Camp payment plans are available.
Summer Band Tuition for Registrations received on or before June 27, 2022:
1 Installment of $499 due with registration.
2 Installments of $260. 1st Installment due with registration and 2nd Installment due by June 30.
Camp Tuition for Registrations received between June 28 – July 15, 2022:
1 Installment of $525 due with registration.
2 Installments of $275 each due with registration and 2nd installment due by July 10.
Camp Tuition for Registrations received after July 15, 2022:
1 Installment of $599 due with registration.
